Few ways to keep wedding costs down

Perfect Wedding Guide  January 15, 2013

Tips for keeping wedding costs down

Let's face it, wedding planning is not cheap. However, there are a number of ways to save that could cut a bride and groom's costs in half. With these tips, the happy couple will be able to say "I do" without worrying about how much money they are spending.

Pick a date not during peak season
Couples who have their heart set on a June wedding may want to rethink things, as a date change can mean they save a great deal of money. According to The Huffington Post, couples can save up to 20 percent by snatching a venue during the off-season.

Cut the guest list
Those who are having a tough time finding places to save may want to cut down their guest list. Even though deciding who is and who is not invited to the wedding can be difficult, the smaller the wedding, the more the couple can get out of the rest of their nuptials.

Snatch up all the venue deals possible
When it comes to hosting a wedding at a banquet hall or hotel, many venues have a catering team they like to use. As a result, it may be cheaper to get a deal with the venue. For instance, a hotel or country club may offer packages including food and beverage, and this could be cheaper than hiring a private catering company.

Opt for local flowers
By sticking to seasonal or local flowers, couples can save a few hundred dollars. This may not seem like that much in the grand scheme of things, but it can really pay off down the road
